Willard Lloyd Wardlow, age 81 of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Wardlow retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty-seven years. He then was a teacher for fourteen years at the Southern Hills Joint Vocational School. During all of this time he and his late brother, Richard Wardlow operated the Wardlow Heating, Plumbing and Electric Company in Georgetown. Mr. Wardlow served in the Army during World War 2 and he served nine months as a prisoner of war. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Arnheim, the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180, the Wilson Sroufe V.F.W. Post #9772, various POW organizations and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was born on July 13, 1925 in Georgetown, Ohio the son of the late Oscar Lee and Esther Leola (Hanselman) Wardlow. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wardlow.
Mr. Wardlow is survived by his wife - Betty (Miller) Wardlow; one niece - Sue Wardlow Adkins and husband Tom of Cincinnati, Ohio and one sister-in-law - Nancy Wardlow of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Private services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Rev. Harold Oliver will officiate. Interment will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Arnheim, Ohio with veteran services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Boulevard, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154 or to the church of your choice. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown is serving the family.
