William "Bill" Hildebrandt

William “Bill” Lee Hildebrandt, age 79 of Mt.Orab, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 surround by his loving family at his residence. He was born December 11, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Phil and Eva (Gabbard) Hildebrandt. Bill was a proud United States Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Vietnam War and was a dedicated member of the Williamsburg American Legion Post #288. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career at General Electric before retiring. Retirement did not slow Bill down. For nearly 20 years, he faithfully served his community through Brown County Meals on Wheels, a role he truly cherished. He found great fulfillment in delivering meals, building friendships and brightening the days of those he served. Above all else, Bill's greatest joy was his family. He especially treasured his grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Whether it was a sporting event, school function, prom or any other milestone, Bill was always there with unwavering encouragement and support. To them, Paps was - and always will be - their biggest fan. Bill believed in staying busy and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, taking pride in mowing his yard, attending family gatherings and visiting with friends. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets, caring for them with the same love and devotion he showed to his family. Bill will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, quiet acts of kindness and the deep love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one son – John H. Young II and two brothers – Jim Hildebrandt and Dale Hildebrandt.

Mr. Hildebrandt is survived by his loving wife of nearly 44 years – Jo Ann (Whyte) Hildebrandt whom he married November 8, 1982; six children – Brian Hildebrandt of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark Hildebrandt and wife Lisa of Batavia, Ohio, Jon Hildebrandt of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeff Young and wife Kerri of Hamersville, Ohio, Julie Weinman and husband Eric of Georgetown, Ohio and Jenae Kleemeyer and Dwayne Sawyers of Sardinia, Ohio; eleven grandchildren – Kelsey Howard and husband Spencer, Trevor Sininger, Abbie Mournout and husband Andrew, Emma Young, Hannah Unger and husband Ryan, David Young, Rylie Young, Cana Jester and husband Chace, Olivia Young, Jason Young and Ryan Hildebrandt; seven great grandchildren – Kynnady and Kynnley Unger, Hayden and Harrison Howard, Rory Mournout and Henry and Brooks Jester; one brother – Paul Hildebrandt and wife Jean, many nieces and nephews and his fur baby - Will.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2026 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mt.Orab Cemetery in Mt. Orab, Ohio.
