Mr. Jesse Woodrow (Woodie) Burton, age 89 of Russellville, Ohio died Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at The Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. He was a lifelong farmer, a highway construction operating engineer and was a fifty year member of The Ohio Operating Engineers Union. In recent years, he was baptized at The Ripley Church of Christ. Mr. Burton was born on October 17, 1915 in Lewis County, Kentucky the son of the late James and Rosetta (Kemplin) Burton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Louise (Russell) Burton; his foster parents, Will and Jennie Scott and fifteen brothers and sisters.

Mr. Burton is survived by one son, Floyd Dale Burton and wife Millie of Russellville, Ohio; one daughter, Rosa Mae Burton of Ripley, Ohio; a very special niece, Judy Lewis and husband Dwayne of Fayetteville, Ohio; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Rev. John Neu will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in The Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Plumville, Kentucky.
