Wylie C. Evans, age 89 of Georgetown, Ohio died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio. Mr. Evans worked in the grocery business for over 40 years, owning and operating Dot Food Stores and later Super Value Food Store for 22 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Carey-Bavis American Legion Post #180, the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, the Free and Accepted Masons and the Scottish Rite. He was born in Byrd Township, Ohio May 28, 1915 the son of the late Wylie O. and Maggie (Cluxton) Evans. He was also preceded in death by his wife Evelynne (Caldwell) Evans.
Mr. Evans is survived by one son - Robert W. Evans of Georgetown, Ohio; one daughter - Carol Dean Ford of North Ridgeville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one sister - Gladys Evans of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Rev. William Kirby will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 - 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Red Oak Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. If desired, memorial may be made to the Hospice of Hope 415 A½ Home St. Georgetown, Ohio or Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn Street, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
