Xaiden Michael Grant Combs, the cherished 20-month-old son of Vincent “Alex” Alexander Grant Combs and Alexis “Lexy” (Stauder) Combs of Ripley, Ohio passed away peacefully at home Saturday, November 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 27, 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Xaiden was born with a Congenital Heart Defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). requiring surgery shortly after his birth, which unfortunately led to a stroke. Despite his challenges, he brought joy and light to those around him. Xaiden had a fondness for the Backyardigans, enjoyed playing in the water and found comfort in chewing on his hand. In the weeks leading up to his passing, Xaiden and his family created lasting memories during a visit to Great Wolf Lodge and a trip to Disney World, thanks to the generosity of others. These moments will be cherished by his family as they remember the love and happiness that Xaiden brought into their lives. His spirit and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Xaiden was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather – Joshua Combs, maternal grandmother – Michelle West and great-grandfathers – Michael West and Charlie Combs.
In addition to his parents, Xaiden is survived by three sisters – Ember, Makayla and Zarenity; grandparents – Richard Stauder and wife Amanda of Ripley, Ohio, Debra Combs of Portsmouth, Ohio and Kari Cecil and Melinda Cecil both of Ripley, Ohio; great-grandparents – Teresa Stauder and Jerry Stauder both of Ripley, Ohio and Vickie Toller of Portsmouth, Ohio; six aunts and uncles – Delynn Toller and husband Jonathan of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Claire Costigan of Mt.Orab, Ohio, AJ Combs and Asa Combs both of Portsmouth, Ohio and Lexi Wuebold and Andrew Schneeman both of Mt.Orab, Ohio and is loving caregiver – Caitlin Hamm of Aberdeen, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
In memory of Xaiden, the family has requested that everyone in attendance wear Backyardigans colors - Yellow, purple, pink, blue or orange. Please do not wear black.
