Daniel Benik Obituary

Daniel J. Benik, age 94 of Candlewood Lake, Mt. Gilead, Ohio died Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio. He was a retired supervisor and claims representative for Simmons Beauty Rest, a United States WWII Army veteran, and an avid golfer. He loved fishing at Candlewood Lake.

Daniel was born October 11, 1927 in Canton, Ohio the son of the late George and Catherine (Yarnovich) Benik. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son – Michael Benik and three brothers - John, Mike and Nick Benik and three sisters – Rose Degiralomo, Mary Cavalier and Ann Spitz.

Mr. Benik is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years – Juanita (Gossel) Benik whom he married October 25, 1980; one son – Tom Benik and wife Mary Ann of Hilliard, Ohio; three step-sons – Steven Snoke and wife Debra of Cincinnati, Ohio, Scott Snoke of Houston, Texas and Robert Snoke and wife Melinda of Pataskala, Ohio; six grandchildren – Tyler Snoke and wife Andrea of Covington, Kentucky, Kassadi Spaw and husband Joshua of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Andrew Snoke and wife Kassi of Katy, Texas, Justin Snoke of Pataskala, Ohio,  Elizabeth Snoke of Salt Lake City, Utah, Megan Snoke of Pataskala, Ohio, and one great grandchild - McKensie Snoke and one on the way.

A memorial service will be held for friends and family at the Candlewood Lake lodge on November 20th at 2:00PM. Donations may be made in memory of Dan Benik to the 'Ohio Veterans Home' in Georgetown, Ohio.  The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
