James Edward Luke

James Edward Luke, age 74 of Ripley, Ohio died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his residence. He was a truck driver, a retired foreman at Taylors, a United States Army Viet Nam War veteran and a member of the Courts-Fussnecker American Legion Post #367 in Ripley, Ohio. Mr. Luke was born December 25, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Lowell and Maretta (Chester) Luke. He was also preceded in death by one brother – Larry Luke.

Mr. Luke is survived by his wife of fifty-three years – Shirley (Simpson) Luke whom he married February 14, 1966; one daughter – Kris Frye of Maysville, Kentucky; four grandchildren – Ryan, Blake, Emma and Elijah Frye; one sister – Betty Malott of Amelia, Ohio; one brother – William (Pete) Luke of San Antonio, Texas; one half-brother – Tom Hopper of Hamersville, Ohio and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Cynthia Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville, Ohio.
