Miranda Mae Shawgo

Miranda Mae Shawgo, age 20 of Batavia, Ohio and formerly of Ripley, Ohio died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at her residence.  She was a soldier in the United States Army Reserve 810th Quartermaster Co. of Maineville, Ohio, a student at U.C. Clermont in Batavia, Ohio, she was employed at PetSmart in Eastgate and volunteered at the Brown County Animal Shelter in Georgetown, Ohio.  Miranda was formerly employed at Bristows Pharmacy in Ripley, Ohio, Donohoo Pharmacy in Georgetown, Ohio and McDonald's in Ripley.  She also graduated as Valedictorian of her 2014 graduating class at Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High School.  Miranda was born October 6, 1995 in Maysville, Kentucky the daughter of Susan Reetz and Brian Shawgo of Ripley, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by two grandparents – Michael Shawgo and Mary Jean Reetz.

Miranda is survived by her parents Susan Reetz and Brian Shawgo of Ripley, Ohio; her two dogs – Cash and Akira; two grandparents – Sue Moran of Maysville, Kentucky and Robert Reetz of Ripley, Ohio; two great-grandparents – Thelma Shawgo of Hamilton, Illinois and Blanche Strausbaugh of Maysville, Kentucky; three aunts – Michelle Schisler of Corbin, Kentucky, Stephanie Polley of Maysville, Kentucky and Mary Beth Ring of Georgetown, Ohio; one uncle – Michael Reetz of Winchester, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio.  Chaplain Gregory Clark will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, July 1.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley with military honors being provided by the United States Army Reserves.
