Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science has been setting the standard in mortuary science education since 1882, making it the nation's oldest school of its kind. Constantly striving to improve the quality of education, CCMS offers a diverse education in all aspects of funeral service as well as provide real world experience in our state of the art clinical embalming laboratory under the supervision of licensed faculty members. 

A CCMS education promises a challenging and comprehensive study of all aspects of the funeral industry, with the opportunity for an Associate of Applied Science Degree in 12 months or a Bachelor's of Mortuary Science in 15 months (with prior college transfer credits). Our faculty provides an excellent learning environment. The Undertaking - A Frontline Special

Thomas Lynch, 58, is a writer and a poet. He's also a funeral director in a small town in central Michigan where he and his family have cared for the dead -- and the living -- for three generations. For the first time, Lynch agreed to allow cameras inside Lynch & Sons, giving FRONTLINE producers Miri Navasky and Karen O'Connor rare, behind-the-scenes access -- from funeral arrangements to the embalming room -- to the Lynches' world for this film, The Undertaking. 

For Lynch and his family, their business has always been about more than just caring for the dead. "What I've written is that while the dead don't care, the dead matter," Lynch explains. "The dead matter to the living. In accompanying the dead, getting them where they need to go, we get where we need to be -- to the edge of that oblivion and then returned to life with the certain knowledge that life has changed."

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Cincinnati Affiliate

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. 

In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. 

In January, 2008, Brown County became a part of the Greater Cincinnati Affiliate service area, bringing much needed services to this area like the Mobile Mammography Unit, as well as educational programs to area high schools. 

Jennifer Cahall, wife of Ken, is a breast cancer survivor as well as former member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Cincinnati affiliate, 

a charter member of the Public Policy and Advocacy Committee and the Brown County Representative.
