Mary C. Carrington

Mary C. Carrington, 93 of Georgetown, Ohio, passed from this life Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Villa Georgetown, Georgetown, Ohio. Born July 12, 1921 at Manchester, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Richard O. and Bessie A. (Young) Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband – William A. Carrington on February 20, 1994; four sisters –Helen (Robert) Neu, Louise (William) Cook, Dorothy (Larry) DeVaney and Katherine (Ellis) Beighle and one brother – Watson (Toni) Cox.

She was a homemaker while her children were at home and was active in P.T.O. and as a Georgetown High School Band mother. For many years, she provided child care for several families in Georgetown. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and was a member of the Garden Club, a member and past president of the Brown County Historical Society and a member of the Genealogy Society. Mrs. Carrington was a Christian and a member of the Hamersville Church of Christ.

She is survived by her two sons - William A. (Carol) Carrington Jr. of Crawfordsville, Indiana and John L. (Robin) Carrington of Longview, Texas; sisters Ruth (Gene) Scott of Tipp City, Ohio and Meredythe (Donald G) Purdin of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren Amy Carrington and Amanda (Antonio) Tinoco of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Matthew Carrington of Fort Worth, Texas and Grant Carrington of Longview, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Troy Braunstein will be officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Thursday. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamersville Church of Christ, P.O. Box 126, Hamersville, Ohio 45130.
