Richard Paul Bess, Sr.

Richard Paul Bess, Sr., age 79 of Winchester, Ohio died Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio. He was the former owner and operator of Bess Tractor Sales in Winchester, Ohio and a farmer. Richard was born February 15, 1936 in Lewis Township, Brown County, Ohio the son of the late Herbert E. and Georgia (Woodmansee) Bess. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, one daughter – Sue Ellen Bess, two brothers – George and Gayle Bess and two sisters – Jean Beyersdorfer and Audrey Bess.

Mr. Bess is survived by his wife - Marylyn (Grimm) Bess; four children – Sheila Waterfield and husband Ritchie of Georgetown, Ohio, Richard P. Bess, Jr. and wife Charlie of West Union, Ohio, Tony Bess and wife Deanie of Sardinia, Ohio and Wray Jean Ratliff and husband Greg of Winchester, Ohio; four step children; twelve grandchildren; several step grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and one sister – Evelyn Rose of Lexington, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Macon Church of Christ, 11838 Emmons Street, Winchester, Ohio. Jared Florence will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Shinkles Ridge Cemetery near Georgetown, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
