I work with your son at the Georgetown library. I am so very sorry about your loss. What a tragedy for your family. I too have lost family members at young ages. One thing that has helped me is the comfort from God's Word the Bible. One of my favorite scriptures is Jesus' words at John 5:28,29. There Jesus tells us not to be amazed but the day will come when all those in the graves will be resurrected. And not only that but it will be on a paradise earth (Psalms 37:10,11,29)
Another thing is the condition of the dead. At Ecclesiastes 9:5 and 10 tells us that the dead are unconscious as if asleep. But we also know that our loved ones like your son are in God's memory. And that's the best place to be.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I want you to know that Tyler was a very sweet boy and you did a good job of raising him. I wish that his life hadn't ended like this and I know you wished the same thing.
Be strong it will take time and you have a little one to remember him by and that should help. I don't know what else to say to you at this time except I love you all and I hope one day that we can know each other again and smile one day together.
